Going NUTZ
I have a 1987 Ford Ranger 2.9 L Automatic, 4x4 mileage 118K.
It will stall out while driving. It used to sputter black smoke, but since I replaced almost everything, it doesn't blow black smoke anymore, but it will stall out at any accelleration point (but only intermittently). Whether you are idling at a light, or doing 70 mph on the highway. When it stalls, sometimes I put it in nuetral and restart. It will occassionly buck real bad, as if it stalled and restarted quickly. Sometimes I have to pull over and wait a little while to restart it, sometimes I put it in neutral and start it while coasting.
I am going to get killed it this thing. Had it to 3 garages, they cannot duplicate the problem because it is totally random. Good for a day or 3, then acts up again.
Here is what I recently replaced:
Spark plugs
Cap
rotor
wires
distributor module
throttle pos sensor
egr valve
O2 sensor
iacv
fuel pressure regulator
egr solenoid
vacuum lines
coil
temp sensor
sensor on intake
Everything except the catalytic converter; distributor; and the fuel pump.
I have seen a LOT of this same problem in searching the net, and have yet to find someone with a fix.
Help me PLEASE.
Thanks
