Tail Light Issue

Has anyone had a problem with the brake lights being intermittent? While on vacation they began to work/not work. When I took off the tail light housing I cleaned the sockets. At that time they didn't work. I checked the bulbs and the filaments were all in tact. One of the bulds had some black residue on it. I thought maybe it was bad, but that wasn't the problem.

By the time I got to the dealer they worked. He said it was probably a "clean contact" issue. All the way from North Carolina to Florida they worked "most" of the time, but there were times when the right brake light wouldn't work.

Anyone run into this type of problem?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Don

If you can catch it when they aren't working I would check for power to and from the brake light switch on the brake pedal.
