A few of the defroster wires have decided to stop working. I notice that Pep Boys sells a kit to "repair" them, assuming theres some kind of break in them (must be microscopic cause I cant see any) So thats my question...how do you find the readson for them not working???
To do it you need a voltage meter and aluminum foil.
1. turn the ignition switch and the defogger system switch to the on position
2. Rap a small peace of foil around the negative probe leaving a small square so that it looks like a flag. The probe being the pole and the small square the flag.
3. Place the positive lead against the positive terminal and push the foil against the defogger wires.
4. drag the foil over all the wires. When the voltage goes to zero you have found the break. you can also tell which wire it is by any irregular votages when you first touch the wire.
