heya everyone! just a quick question. my battery needs replacing(its an old leaky canadian one...) I went to NAPA and they have a 'standard' one called 'silverline' for $79. would that be ok or does anybody have any suggestion on
what to look for??
The last I knew ,There are only about 4 battery manufacturer's making North America's batteries.
Just Get a battery with the highest CCA you can buy.
Most batteries are made to last 2-4 years not like the old days when they lasted 10-12 years.
If you can find a battery with a Lifetime Guarantee ...buy that one

hey mil1ion! thanks for the reply!!
well, I bought the truck in canada - so the writing on the battery is in french (but I guess that doesn't matter...).
I'm not very good with electrics - so what is the minimum CCA I should be looking for??? my HAYNES repair book doesn't state any numbers.
CCA is cold cranking amps. The colder the weather, the more amp draw is needed to crank the truck. Since your in SF, you probally don't see that much cold temps. Still I would stay above 500. Battery is also a factor with any accessories such as ac, hihg end audio, etc. Interstate recommended a 535 minimum size for your truck. http://www.ibsa.com/estore/search.as...NVA500439&js=1
