Transfer Case Part Numbers Needed
In planning for the transmission swap (4R70W to T3550 behind a 5.0) I'd like to know the different part numbers for transfer cases used in Ford Explorers. If someone has a link to a website with the info - that would rock. Otherwise, a reply or replies from owners would be awesome.
Specifically, what i would like is Explorer year, engine (Both V6s and the V8) transmssion type, and if the X is AWD, 4x4, or A4WD. I haven't decided what X to buy, but it would either be a 97 or 98.
Do the transfer cases all have the same demensions and flanges for mounting and drivehshafts? or are some different?
All info is welcome - i want to find out all the goodies before i start to work on the swap.
Also, if anyone is in the Boston area and has a 97 or 98 X with 5.0 that they're selling - let me know!!
