For those of you using this wheel is it to loud? I have an ATS housing coming and a wicked wheel and I've heard they can be extremely loud? I like turbo whine that is tolerable but not overbearring...Your thoughts..
you may want to try just the ats housing first(based purely on performance) the housing should stop your turbo surge plus give you a little more boost, the ww on the other hand, i have heard will take care of the surge but in many cases reduce boost a little. i have been doing alot of reasearch on both and decided to do the housing and keep my stock wheel
in my own opinion considering the installation of the wicked wheel, if you have the money and are going to put the ATS housing on anyway, I would go ahead and install it while your at it. Maybe not completely necassary, but the boost you will get from the wheel will not be more, but smoother, no surge whatsoever. I understand that the housing you purchased reduces or eliminates the surge as well. I'm speaking just of the labor. The wicked wheel in any case will not reduce your performance. Worst case scenario, you might have paid $60 for something you didn't need. In my opinion knowing I wouldn't have to pull the turbo twice would be worth the 60. BTW, how much was the housing, If inexpensive, I may be pulling my turbo for a second time

from what i have read you have to pull the turbo to put in a WW but you can install the ATS housing without taking the turbo off.
I'm running both. Started with the wheel and the noise level was louder than stock but for sure nor offensively so. When I added the housing there was a very slight increase in level but most notably it started a little sooner (lower boost #'s). Housing is done with the turbo in place and shouldn't take more than 2 to 2-1/2 hrs. Biggest prob with this is that stinking E-clip on the wastegate arm.
Yeah, Cookie, I really wish you hadn't said that ...now I'm gonne be forced to buy one I've actually been planning on getting one for quite some time now, but I think you just sold me on it. I can get the funds together in a couple months, so we'll see how it goes.
