Stepside Rear Bumper Brackets
I am going back to an original style rear bumper on my 63 stepside. I purchased the correct bumper and brackets but cannot figure out how the brackets are attached to the rear frame members. The forward 1/2 inch hole seems correct but from there aft nothing on the frames matches the hole pattern on the brackets.
Can anyone tell me how many and what size bolts were used to attach the bracket sets to each frame member? Do the bracket sets straddle the frames or install together on the outboard side of the frames? What is the approximate spacing of the bolts through the frames?
The brackets came with what seems to be a permanent steel pin holding each set together located about 4 1/2 inches aft of the forward 1/2 inch hole.
