Carb gasket help!

I had my 1 bbl. Carter carb rebuilt and don't know which gasket to use when remounting it. The solid one or the one with cutouts on it?

Man am I dumb when it comes to cars. I'm only trying to get this '76 running for my 16 yr. old son.

Any help would be appreciated.

do you have an egr
if so then the cutout should be the one
if not then you may have a straight thru spacer and the plain gasket works

Exhaust Gas Recirculator. A procedure where a small amount of exhaust gas is re-admitted into the combustion chamber to reduce peak combustion temperatures and thus reduce nitrous oxides emissions. I'm not sure if or not your '76 has a EGR valve.
