Engine Stubbles while driving HELP!!
Ok this is whats goin ok....1st off no check engine lights at all.....you are driving along and apply pressure to the gas pedal and you get a lil buck or stumble then itll go....not like alot just like a 1/2 a sec. then its fine....and it idles a lil weird too like it has a miss or dead spot....im not too sure what it is but it drives me NUTS!!! anyone else have this problem?? please help me out...thanks.

How many miles on your truck?
All gears demonstrate the problem?
Does it occur under gentle, steady throttle applications?
Hard acceleration?
Both?
Are there some circumstances that it does not occur under and some it does?

it has about 86k on it and it happens when i go from steady pressure to harder acceleration like when i stick it down a bit to pass without changing gears...lower rpms only....like 55 mph in 4th holding then try to get to 65 mph itll buck a lil bit almost like a miss or something....any clues Brian?

First guess:
Spark plugs and wires.
That sounds similar to what mine did, as well as the rough/unsteady idle.
My problem also started around 80,000 miles.
I know other folks have differing opinions, but I do suggest OEM (Motorcraft) wires and plugs. They work.
You can get them at the dealer, or as in my cse, at one of the area wholesale/over the counter sales "distributorship" type places.
Not talking Autozone type stores. The place I went was not a standard retail outlet.
Ah heck, you can find 'em I'm sure.
Total cost for plugs and wires was about $80 if I remember correctly.
Also, buy you some dielectric grease for the wire ends. I also use a small amount of anti-sieze on the plug threads.
Both anti-sieze and dielectric greas are available at retail outlets.
Give it a shot and I'll buy you lunch if it doesn't fix the problem.

Brian i will try the wires as the plugs are brand new autolite platniums the wires may be stock but look really clean i will try that you are the 2nd person to tell me the wires were the prob....i will try it and let you know...thanks for the advice bro

a week after I bought mine the service engine soon light came on and it would stumble sometimes...Turned out to be a DPFE sensor/EGR problem....Must be common..But it drove fine 99% of the time..I guess I had a mild ocassion...

2FordTrucks, how did you determine you had a bad coil pack? I'm trying to figure out if mine is going bad/is bad. I started a thread about checking the coil pack on my 2000.
