However the standard Halogen headlamps seem quite dim to me. I'm used to driving in cars with Xenon headlamps. I initally wanted to replace the bulb, but I was told I had to purchase an entire headlamp as they are sealed unit. Any recommendations for California street legal Xenon (or any other brighter headlamps?)
dido, 9007's in the headlights and 9005's in the fogs,(if you have factory fogs). but like was said do a search and you will find all kinds of info
welcome to FTE

Are you driving an XL model? The XLT and Lariat models are not a sealed beam. You replace the bulb only. I believe the XL is a sealed beam, but not positive on that.

I ran accross thise site while looking for foglights. I'm not sure what model your truck is but this site has the 03/04 style head lights on it. They may help a little with the new design.

Thanks for the welcomings and the quick responses. After reading your responses, it looks like I'm probably gonna get the Sylvania SilverStar Sealed Beam H6054ST.
Anyways, for those curious: https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=10851
Yes...it's an off-lease work truck, but it only had 41,000 miles on it. It sat on the dealer's lot for months and nobody wanted it cuz it looked ugly. I thought it looked okay, and it seemed lonely, so I bought it for $8,100 and have been happy with it since!
I have a '01 XL and just swapped my sealed beam head lights with new non sealed head lights, bought on ebay, $80 with bulbs. Now it looks like an 04. Really easy, all thats needed is 4 clips to hold lights in, ( I got mine at an auto parts store in the HELP section for $6) Or get the clips from ford. Ford has lights too....$132 per side! They are a big improvement.
