Steering problem???
Hey everyone,
Ok, i barely know anything about steering, but i will try to explain the problem so that it will make sense. First of all, its on a 79 Ranchero with power steering. Now, i just took out the steering column, and ive noticed a problem with where the bottom half of the steering column connects right outside off the firewall. It looks like its supposed to be bolted down in 2 sides, but one side is completely free, causing it too move around freely on that side, but it cant be pulled out because there is some bar that goes perpendicular stopping it. And im guessing that because of this problem, that's why i could move the steering wheel about an inch or two after it is already "locked". If anyone can tell me what is wrong so i know what parts are actually affected, and if anyone can tell me what i can do, that would be great. Thanks a bunch!!
