F10 = F100, d = 223 ci 6 cylinder engine, 6 = 1956, u = the manufactoring plant symbol - sorry no help with this, 74849 is the consecutive unit number starting at 10001.
5000 = gross vehicle weight.
110 is our wheel base
120 is the horsepower rating of the engine at 900 rpm - this seems a little low for the rpm rating.
The first 3 is original transmission = 3 speed.
3.73 is the rear axle
R = Torch Red (the original color of the truck - also the same color as "Vermillion" that was used on earlier trucks).
Finally - the trucks birthdate and production code. The 30 = the day of the month. L = December. 319329p ??? I have not been able to find answers to the rest of the numbers sequence.
Heck, December 30th 1956 - with the body style change in 1957, it look like you have one of the last 56's made. Cool!! And welcome to the forum!!
thanks alot im glad to have one of the last versions i wonder what the last sequence number is i think my rpm is 1900 but wasnt sure as its hard to read on that part.
U Mf plant is Louisville so it didn't get too far from its birthplace
I'd bet rpm is 2900?
L is November (Ford didn't use 'I' cause it looked like his '1' stamp)
Last string of numbers is 'car produced' according to my stuff.
