I too am having this problem in my 87' F150 w/ dual tanks. One day it was bogging pretty bad and I made it a few blocks home, put a little gas in both tanks and it wouldnt fire. Both fuel gauges are inaccurate but there is fuel in both tanks.

Suspected fuel tank selector valve, can someone please tell me where it is located and how to remove it?

thanks, I would really like to get this done today

truck bogging out

hello, guitar333

the fuel selector valve is located on the driver side about mid-way on the main frame, it where the fuel lines from the tank's it 's 3 ported meaning 1 line from the rear tank, 1 line from the front tank and then the line to the fuel pump my fule pump is manual. you'll know it when you see it. to remove you need to pull off the the 3 clips that hold the hoses on, real simple.

hope that helps

p.s. I took selector valve out completly, and for now i'm just running the front tank.

thanks

bogging out

hello again Guitar333

yes, once you remove the selector valve, all's your doing is running a line from the front fuel tank to the fuel pump (my fuel pump is mechanical). the fuel pump is what draws the fuel from the tank, I used a piece of 5/8" x 10" brake line w/2 clamps. Note I'm only running on the front tank for now. I'm in the process of trying to get both tanks to run as one???

whope that helps!
