Air Intake for 5.4L problem!!!!
okay,
installed an aftermarket intake system on my truck and now the service engine soon light is on....noticed that there was an additional sensor on the original air intake....from the air filter...the new intake only has one sensor port...installed the litte rubber mounted sensor but left the other one off? SO what does that sensor do? what can i do now to close the circuit?

hope my e-mail helped some. If you get a chance, take a look at the Volant Intake. I realize that you have already installed the other, but it might be worth it especially to get rid of the check engine light. That was one thing that kind of worried me when I went to start taking off the old intake, but another FTEr told me not to worry with the Volant because it fits perfectly, installs easily, and no check engine lights. I don't know how set you are on keeping the intake that you installed, but if you get a chance, you might take a look at the Volant, I feel that it would be well worth your time.

What year is your truck?
My 2002 5.4 F-150 has 3 sensors in the intake. The MAF sensor (just behind the air filter) and 2 sensors toward the middle of the intake tube: AIT (air intake temp) and ICS (idle control solenoid). The ICS isn't actually a sensor, its a vacum hose that goes to the sensor. You may have gotten the wrong intake for your truck if it doesn't have all the necessary conections.
Take a look at the Airraid website for instructions with pictures.
