darn cruise control
95 ranger, 2wd, 4cyl, 158,000 miles
after a year of not working i finally decided to dig into my cruise control and see if i can fix it. the diaphragm holds a vacuum, the brake switch also holds vacuum (except when brake is depressed), fuse is fine. i unplugged the 4 wire connector on the diaphragm, 2 yellow wires, a white/red, and a black. i stuck a circuit tester into the plug and couldn't get any of them to "light up". i'm assuming this means my problem is up those wires somewhere. any ideas on where to look next??? thanks

Check out those vacuum hoses carefully. Not just a quick visual, but look in all the curves for cracks. In my old F-250, the cruise kept working most of the time but the vacuum leaks from cracks and splits in those hoses caused other EFI problems.
