I installed an Isspro Boost gauge and when I took the truck for a test spin I noticed a fluttering sound and the needle on the gauge vibrating a bit when I floored the pedal. This vibrating of the needle occurs when it reaches around 18 to 22 psi.
Anyone else experiencing this ?? I believe the fluttering sound is coming from the gauge !!

Thanks,
No but then again I use AutoMeter gauges. Maybe something is leaking (one of your connections) at that pressure? Maybe someone with Isspro gauges can comment further...
Does it have a satellite communications rig from Halliburton or CapRock on it?
Just curious as it might be one that we built for them.

He sent me some cool pictures, I am a very interested in off shore rigs, they fascinate me form the engineering side.....life long dream to get on one.
What do yo do with them
When I went for a ride with the diesel tech with his WDS computer, he could tell boost. He said I got 31 lbs WOT at about 45mph getting to 70 real quick. How did the WDS computer read boost? Is there a sensor for boost already on the engine?
I would assume so. I have the edge/attitude and it reads boost with no special provisions other than plugging it in...so it must get the info from the trucks computer...just my guess.

It does have one, when I pooped the intercooler end off they tried to tell me they needed to hook up the computer to it. My reply was NO, then they said it would not be warranted if they could not prove the motor was seeing less than 24 lbs of boost.....I laughed and asked if it does then what happens....told me we must re-flash..............well that is when I pulled out Luke's statement wrote it out on the work order, (made the manager sign it) got out my lock box for the flash port and told them they would not re-flash my truck, 30 minutes later of talking and understanding that I was the customer........they R&R’ed my intercooler. Overall, I remained very professional, with a tremendous amount of resolve.
Point is they can for sure read thee boost. While I was unhooking the rig one of the techs cam out and we were talking about the boost thing and this particular dealership, that was standard practice for that area, and they sell 8/1 SD vs. cars. Therefore, they test everyone for over boost conditions. Interesting that a certain area has looked on to, what they perceive as an important test.
Turbonotch has 03...no problem
Tim Lamkin has 03....no problem
purplewg has 04 built in 03....no problem
akespy has 04...problem
n6nfg has 04...problem
strokin60 has 04...problem
Just a thought.
I called Banks about my needle vibration, and they were clueless, said that they hadn't seen it, but that they hadn't seen many 2004 trucks yet.
Lets hear from a larger user sample base! Anyone else with a mechanical add-on boost gauge (from any manufacturer) SPEAK UP! It would also be good to say where you tapped in to the boost. In my case, I tee'd off the rubber hose right at the MAP sensor.

I have ISSPRO gauges and tapped off the MAP as well. My gauge is very loud with fluttering. I actually need to find the problem or disconnect it.
