fuel shut off switch

Question fuel shut off switch

im trying to replace my fuel filter and i have been told the easiest way to release the pressure in the fuel lines is to turn off the fuel shut off switch. i got a haines manual to try and find it and it doesnt seem to be where it says it is can any body help tell me where it is

It is actually called an inertia switch. It should be located under the dash somewhere I believe. Just unplug it and run the engine until it dies.

Hi,

On my Econoline E150 I found the switch in front of the passengerdoor jamb,; there is a plasticcover and the switch is behind this cover; no need to remove, you can get at it from above.
