Alright...I'm completely new to the game of 4 wheeling. And i mean COMPLETELY! Ive never had a truck worth talking about before so im here now begging for help. I declare now that hubs are greater than me. But, i can fix this with yoru help. Someone please tell me how to work these stupid things on my 84' Bronco II. I have absolutely no idea what im doing and i fear im doing more damage than the fun im having is worth. Someone please explain. Anything helps .
Hard to say without much info. But to use the four wheel drive you need to manually rotate the hubs from free to lock position if they are manual hubs. If they are automatic, you need only to engage the transfer case by shifting the lever form 2H to 4H or 4L. If you are going to use 4 low you must put the transmision in neutral to shift in and out. I hope this helps and post with more specific info if you need more help.
well i dont have much to add to what dino said, just turn your hubs if they are manual, dont if theyre not. But man oh man these things are awesome off road. I have just a two in lift in the back and no lift in front, i run 31X10.5's. I went up some ATV trails last thursday and you should see the looks on people's faces. Anything smaller and you would scrape the crap outta your undercarrage, anything bigger and it woulda tipped on some of those inclines. So if you use common sense these things are demons off road!
Well i dont really know what specifics your looking for, but just to name a few, it has manual locking hubs, its a 4 speed manual transmission, its is COMPLETELY stripped both interior and exterior as a refurbishing and a paintjob were in the planning stages but unfortunately money once again made itself scarce, and it has no lift of any kind on it. Also, the engine, a v6, and the 4 wheel drive were very recently rebuilt (<1000 miles) and everything is mechanically sound for the time being. Ask about anything else you might want to know.
