Carb trouble
I rencently rebuilt my carb (motorcraft 2100) and been having troubles ever since
#1 - when trying to start, it sometimes back fires back thru the carb spraining gas onto the engine block.
#2- there is also a serious hesitation right off idle. It sometimes even stalls.
#3- when turning corners it will sometimes stall out on me.
Any sugg. that could help would be great. Thanks
#2. Your accelerator pump might not be doing it's job; you're leaning out on acceleration. Make sure the pump was put together correctly, the pesky ball check and weight are in there correctly, and the acc. pump rod is set to specification. It is also possible your float is set so that the fuel level is too low.
#3. Hmm...I'm going to guess that your float, again, is set incorrectly and the fuel level is so low that when you turn, the fuel sloshes to one side of the fuel bowl and your carb leans out.
I think your most general problem is that your float height is incorrect. Check that first, and if it's incorrect, fixing it may knock out all your problems.
