Bedside emblem mounting

Bedside emblem mounting
I have a 1978 SB F-100 Custom that I bought a salvaged bed to replace the original. The replacement bed has the holes to mount the bedside emblems and I would like to mount the custom emblems in place the explorer emblems. Do all the bedside emblems mount the same way and in the same holes?

On 73-76 beds the bedside emblems are below the rear side marker light. 77-79 trucks did not have bedside emblems except for the Explorer models. On 77 and 79 Explorers, the emblem is above the side marker light. On 78 Explorers, the emblem was below the marker light. Since your truck is a 78, it should work to put a Custom emblem on the bed in place of the Explorer emblem. I think the holes for the emblems are the same.
