Computer update/More Power needed

Ok, I need some advise...Last year I did a gear change, and what a difference. Also, I had Ford re program my computer to assure my shift points and such were all back in alignment including my speedo. Now, I have noticed my speedo is exactly 5 mph off, and my shift points dont seem to be as crisp as once were. I really have to mash the go pedal to make this thing down shift once rolling. It seems to upshift nearly too soon also. Things were better right after Ford re programmed the computer. Do I, or should I, pull the battery cables and let the system re set itself, or spend the 75 dollars and let Ford re program it again...You see, I'm a skeptic when it comes to automotive work, unless I'm standing right there with the tech...From past experiences, I found people dont always deliver what they promise. And, it becomes more difficult when we know what we want in an upgrade, and we don't receive exactly what we were asking for because we cant talk to the tech ourselves. Bottom line is, I need more power. Help! Sorry for the long post...

If it were me I would reset codes by pulling battery cable. Your ECM will learn your driving habits over time. If you reset your codes it will have to relearn the driving habits again. Just don't drive it any other way than you would normally drive. It will relearn and adapt. If Ford reprogrammed your computer why didn't they fix your spedo? They have the ability to make the spedo read the correct speed with your new gearing...... You could purchase a programmer and fix that yourself. This sounds like another dealership rip off to me! I don't trust dealerships to do anything. I only go if I absolutely have to. I have a few local shops around that can do most code scanning but even they can't access all ECM functions that Ford can.

Thanks, I could not find any shops here in Vegas to program my computer. They all said I needed to go to Ford...Initially after Ford re-programmed my system everything was fine, including the speedo and shift points. It seems as if the computer is losing its memory, and starting to forget what was downloaded by Ford.

This cannot happen. Once the "code" is uploaded into the PCM it is there until a reprogram occurs. I'd suggest you get a Superchip 1715 tuner. Not only will you be able to adjust shift points, firmness, speedo, etc., you'll also get around 25 more ponies.
