Help... No engine code and still runs poorly

I must have been offshore a long time when this thread started, but (not bragging) my guess was the cam pos. sensor, since all the problems started when that install was made. Cowboy, you might be better at this that you give yourself credit for...at least you skimmed over the issue without knowing it.

The sensor gave a good signal, but the computer doesn't sense much else in that case.


"The engine code I had was for a cam position sensor, so I replaced the sensor and the tower it sits on because the tab was broken. This took care of the code, but the problem remains. The engine does not idle properly either... It acts like it wants to die, and then it returns to normal idle... this happens several times a minute."

that sounds a lot like a problem i had already and that was the mass airflow sensor. it would idle poorly and then speed up , then drop idle again
