F28 code

I just purcased a 76 Hi-Boy with a Texas box, new fenders, fixed doors, mint 78 Bronco grille and molding, 360 w/headers, and good drive train. Runs and drives. Stole it for $400. The VIN# is F28 blah blah blah. F28? What the fudge?

F28 is just part of the code, meaning it's some sort of f250 (i think). F15 = f150 2wd, F25 = F250 2wheel drive, F26 = F250 4 wheel drive, etc. I don't have the code for F28, but someone else is sure to know.....

Great deal, btw.

I know the whole code lingo. I just never seen F28 before. Wondering if it was some kind of HD or something. The title I recieved with truck says "Previously owned by U.S. government".

Welcome to FTE Nut

F28 code stands for the same truck you mentioned except for ONE majior thing.

F26 is a truck with a the bed whereas,the F28 means it has a cab & chassis.
This allows for anything to be installed rear of the cab

Speaking of lingo nut,

The 400 engine designation doesn't contain the M. ONLY the 351M gets the suffix, therefore 400M is not.

The engine series reads like this > 351M/400

I can remove the M if you wish ?

Also, you may have noticed the title has changed.
I edited it to describe the nature of the question.

What is an F28 ?

If another user wanted to know how would he find this thread named about the F28 when the title is :
"What the Fudge"?
