Brake System Question

Recently while towing my trailer I had to perform an emergency stop. In the course of stopping my brake pedal went all the way to the floor and reacted as though the master cylinder had died. After this I noticed brake fluid leaking from the rear under bed area of my F-250 Super Duty. I believe that I have isolated. The rear lines (metal) are routed to a junction on the rear face of the rear axle. Their is also a rubber tube that comes off of this junction on the rear axle. In following the rubber line it terminates at a clip on the frame with a small Y shaped plastic coupling. The coupling appears to be crowned to accept another tube however I can find no evidence of another tube in this area. It is difficult to tell as there are several lines that are located on the rear side of the frame whose view is obscured by the fuel tank. I would appreciate any assistance anyone can provide that would shed some light on this situation. Thanks

Matt

Sounds like you are describing the rear diff vent tube. The brake line fitting is held in place by the vent for the diff.

if you found brake fluid leaking from the rear you have isolated the problem. a line could have rusted or split. dont drive your truck until you fix the problem.

How do you know its brake fluid? Are you shure? I'm guessing that you do indeed have a leak. Have someone pump the brakes and find it...
