Generator with AC?

Rebuilding my engine soon. Looking to the future and want to add AC. Can I use the stock generator? I have a 1960 ford with 292

When I rebuilt my generator and was testing it I was getting 50 amps@1500 rpm out of a 30 amp generator. I think it will work. I am planing on installing ac in my truck as well and keeping the generator.

It may work but I don't think you will be happy with it. A generator barely keeps up with head lights. The A/C blower motor requires a heavy current draw. If you do any night cruising with the A/C on keep close tabs on the ammeter. I'd seriously consider converting to an alternator of at least 60-70 Amps...maybe more.
