I know numerous others here at FTE have stated the same thing as these gentlemen: an overfull condition will lead to oil foaming (even with a CI-4 oil), which the HEUI system is so intolerant of. The dipstick finding was also very interesting.

Another intersting piece of I found out (unrelated to the previous) is that the Detriot Diesel Series 40 is manufactured by Navistar and marketed as a Detriot Diesel engine. I found this humorous as Detriot Diesel is owned by the Chrysler group. I guess it's hard to tell who makes what anymore.

What I like about this, many times over the past months members of FTE, as a group and at times on their own……….discovered many unique “things” about the 6.0. It is very difficult for each to have validation, every time. Then something like this comes up and the revelation and understanding of this motor… becomes a bit clearer.
This is wonderful.

All in FTE work very hard to make this more than a complaint section………….
This is how we accomplish that vision.

And don't forget, not only may the actual length of the dipstick vary, the lenth of the tube for the dipstick can vary, as can the depth it seats into the side of the block. With that great big pan, a little height on the dipstick eqauls a lot of oil.
