Keep Automatic Strong
I just got another truck, a 95 F250 PSD with 140k. This truck was maintained well, even the engine oil clean. My question is, should I change to tranny oil and filter to keep it running strong as it is now. I have heard that putting new oil in a old tranny will take the shellac off the disks and clog up the hydralics. I have also heard that these transmissions can be problematic, so I want to do the best thing.

That is a shot in the dark right thier. I've seen guys have thier trans fluched out and work fine for the rest of the time they have the truck and I've seen others loose the trans pulling out of the lot! It depends alot on how much damage the trans has already had done to it and if its already falling apart internaly you may clog up a line and burn it up! I've been thier and done that!
