I think I bought the wrong rebuild kit! Any help with this? Choke tower numbers DOPF 9510-U
List 4548
503
I know its a 4VV but boughta kit for a 4150. Is this a 4160 450 CFM? Looked on the Holley site, but there is no letter in front of my numbers except for the DOPF! Am I right to assume that "List" 4548 is O-4548?
Yes List 4548 is the same as 0-4548 or sometimes R-4548. The D0PF-9510U is a Ford number so it was an original equipment carb on a Ford vehicle. It is NOT a 4150 series but a 4160 series Holley. Holley kit number is 37-119, I just rebuilt one of those for my parents '65 Mustang. BTW I would buy the Holley kit, not some other brand.JMHO
Thanks alot! Bought a 4150 kit. Parts fit! No wonder it smokes and coughs! But I did find out during the rebuild that the Diaphram did not have the sealing gasket to the carb body. With the gasket(really small cork ring) where is an initial set-up for the motor to start and get some type of beginning point? It has a choke that does not work. The truck sat in a pine forest, used occassionally, for the last 10 yrs.
There is no normal adjustment for the secondary diaphragm. Idle screws should be 1-1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated, idle speed screw one turn past contact with linkage, floats should be dry set top of float level(parallel) with the top of the bowl when inverted.
