I was thinking about replacing my fan with a single or even dual electric fan setup. Is this worth doing as far as cooling efficiency? Will the be any horsepower and mileage gains? Where could I get such a setup for a reasonable price? Any information is welcomed. Thanks guys.

I've been running e-fans on my 1995 f150 with a 5.0 engine for about 6 months. My truck runs cooler and it made a good increase in power, I'm not sure about the gas mileage but every little bit helps I guess.

Did you get the "direct fit" or "universal fit"? How much were they?

I guess they were more of a universal fit. The kit came with two fans, two independent turn on temperature controllers, wiring and mounting hardware. The price was about 300 bucks.

Thats a little to rich for my blood right now, but sometime in the near future I think I will get them.

Go to the junkyard and get some, I'm sure you could piece something together for under a 100 dollars.
