I have a 2000 F-150. If I play a CD that I have burned on my computer, it seems to screw something up in the CD player and i have to take it to a local car stereo shop and they do something to reset it. Does anyone else have this problem? It seems to only happen with a couple of the CDs, but I am afraid to play any of them. How can I fix it, or where can I get the tool that they use to reset the stereo so I can do it myself?
Upon reading further discussion in another forum, I am sure that it is the U-shaped tool they used at the audio shop to just pop the stereo out and put it back in, and that was how they reset it. Any idea where I can get one of these tools? There are two small holes on either side of the stereo that the tool fits into.
Hi and welcome to the forum
When you try the CDs that you burned and it screws up the stereo what actually happens? The CD wont eject? Doesn't play?
The tools should be available at any parts store but I dont know how removing it and reinstalling it will help.
