I've got a '95 Explorer XLT with a strange turn signal problem that I can't solve. Recently, when using the right turn signal the flasher relay under the dash will "buzz" and the turn signal will not work. This only happens when using the right turn signal in the full on position. It works fine in the half position that is used for changing lanes. The left turn signal continues to work as it is supposed to. So far, I have replaced all the turn signal bulbs on the right side, the flasher relay under the dash and the right turn signal relay that is part of the towing package and is located by the battery. I have also checked the wiring around the bulbs to make sure there were no apparent problems. I'm at wit's end on this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Nitro. I was afraid this might be the problem since it's probably much more expensive than the relays and bulbs. Unfortunately, you cannot return electrical parts so I was hoping to avoid replacing the switch unless I just had to. Looks like I'm off to the Ford dealer again.
About $55 from the dealer. Try cleaning it first by spraying electrical contact cleaner around the flasher switch on top while repeatedly pushing the switch off and on. May not work but worth a try. Be sure to disconnect the battery before doing any work on the steering column.
