Spray-on bedliner help

I'm sure alot of you have spray-on bedliners. I was wondering if you had any tips for me in getting this done. Are they all pretty much the same? What's a good price for getting it done and what are some tips for getting a good deal?

THANKS everyone! I just don't want to get ripped off

I have Line-X, and wouldn't get anything else. I paid $390 for "over the rail", with a $20 dollar off coupon from their web site. Make sure they take off your tailgate access panel, and do it separately, so you can get into it if need be. If I had it to do over again, I would have them remove the bolts that hold the bed to the frame before spraying in case I ever had to have my fuel pump worked on.

Ditto PW01's post on the LineX.

I had mine done the day I bought my Ranger, in August 99, so it'll soon be five years.

So far no complaints & NO problems.
I also had over the rail done.
They removed my tailgate access pannel & sprayed it separately, but not the bed bolts, so I too would make shure they remove the bolts before spraying the bed. Most do, but yours may not, so ask that it be done.

It was about $50 more to do over the rail then.
Mine cost $350 in 1999.

Check the dealers workmanship, how thorough they are in surface prep & how much time & care they take in properly masking things off & how straight that masking is.

And lastly, make shure this is what you want, as you can't just pop it out like a drop in if you deside you don't like it.

It is available in colors, but I don't remember how much extra it was, nor how well the colored ones hold up.

I have Black on a white truck & it still looks nice after what will soon be 5 years of light to medium use & exposeure to the elements 24/7.

Never heard of that , which is hardly surprising , the market over is pretty small .
However i have a "drop in" bed liner , so what is the advantage of the spray on one ?

Interesting idea !!!

Kitz E Kat, shurely someone in the Emerald Isle does it.
If not here is your oppetunity to cash in on a shop of your own

In your trade, with all the tools you cary & the dampness your ride incurs I believe you would find a great benfit in having it.

You can check it out at http://www.Line-X.com

At the top of their page you will find a listing of their dealers, world wide if I remember correctly.

Good bed liners all have a catalist wich is mixing part A and part B, wich causes a reaction between the two that insurses the curing procesess.
I have seen that most colered liners fade. I would stick with black. had 2 spray in liners and I decided back in 02 that I would have liked a spray in and a rubber mat on top of that.
Good Night!

The only proplem I've had with my spray in liner was when a dummy who knows everything went to load a palet in the bed would not listen to me and raise it up a little more and he scuffed the liner down to bare metal, after I informed him as to what I thought of his ancestory he gave me one of those I'm sorry man....yeah right. anyway I went back and got a touch up (no charge) but you can tell where it is. I guess the big reason I like it is when you set something down it does not slide around or move.

Line X is the only way to go. I have Rhino Lining in my Toyota Tundra, and it doesn't compare to the Line X. If your at all concerned with warrenty, Line X has a nationwide warrenty, while Rhino does not. The prep and application of the Line X is much better as well. And all this for $30 more than the Rhino.

I have had a lot of experience with sprayed on liners and can tell you that Rhino is the way to go. When it comes to the advantages of Rhino nothing comes close. The fact that nothing slides around when its loaded and it's more impact resistance than Line-x really makes it stand out. We all know when we load things in our trucks its good to have something in it that will protect it from damage and the 1/4 in thick material really does protect the best. Also if you feel Line-X it feels like sandpaper, i dont know about you but i dont want to risk anything getting damaged in the back of my truck. My advice/opinion go whith Rhino.

I've got Rhino in my ranger good stuff. As far as Line-X all I know is where I worked I could rip a line-x bed liner up when I slid a skid of horse food on it. My Rhino seems to hold up a little better not saying it doesn't have some bare spots but it's also seen alot of skids. Also the line-x seems to be thinner than mine. But to each his own look at both in trucks and make up your own mind.
