tempoary tags
If it takes approximately 2 months to order a 2005 F150, at pickup time how long are the temporary plates good for?
I'm thinking of spending 60 days during a tour before heading home.

It depends on what your state's laws are. It varies but most states the temporary tags are good for only 30 days from date of issuance and will be clearly marked. I would imagine the dealer wouldn't fill in the blanks on the tag until you picked it up. After that it, how many times your get pulled over and ticketed depends on how many observant police officers you encounter.

I remember Jeff saying that the NY transit tag gives you 30 days to get the vehicle home & registered. It may vary from state to state though.. Best bet is to call your local DMV or the one in the state you're buying the vehicle in..
