A4LD Tranny Overflowing
Problem. At slower (<60 mphs/2800RPM) not a problem, no fluid loss at all.
When I am on the HWY at 65 mphs for more than 20-25 minutes my tranny fluid spits (not pours, more like spoonfulls, not cups) out the overflow tube on top of tranny onto the exhaust (very smokey). If I stop for a few or slow down to less than 45mphs, it goes away. The tranny doesn't seem to get overheated and I still drive without problems, slippage, or jerking. (except the fluid leak) This happens in both drive and overdrive.
Nothing was wrong until I put a new radiator in it, Now it happens all the time when I get on the HWy for more than 20-25 minutes. I tried the HWy yesterday, it is still doing it. (I mostly stay on the side roads now with no problems at all.)
Does it appear my tranny lines now have restricted flow through the radiator?
Is it building up pressure somewhere?
Any thoughts?, Suggestions for checks or Isolating?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Passing the keys to the kid now any I don't want to have to start worrying.
Sorry for such a long posting.
