There is a guy on ebay that repairs the lcd display on the radio just type in ford radio in the search menu and you will find it.. It is another alternative to doing it yourself and there is a warranty. I haven't had to get mine fixed on my 95 but when i do a search on ebay it comes up all the time.

Check out www.shareamemory.com/radio for the the display repair. You can resolder it yourself or buy a reconditioned one. I used the service and was very pleased.
