i posted this in the i 6 forum and got no answer so here i am i have a dura spark ign sys and its going in my mud truck i need to wire it does n e one know how to hill billy rig this is it possible i need to know its an i 6 1984 f 150
i also need to know how to wire the altranator and if any one has any wiring diagrams for either it would be great thanks

Yes, I think you need a balast resistor. The good news is that you probably already have it on an '84. Locate the two wire plug on the finder linner in front of the master cylinder. Remove the plug from the DuraSpark module and use an OHM meter to measure the resistance from the red wire to the "BAT" lead on the coil. If you see about .5 OHM, thats the ballast resistor. I did the DuraSpark conversion on my '84 and found the ballast resistor was existing. The ballast resistor is actually a length of resistance wire in the wiring harnest near the ingition switch.
