Battery light
Well last night when I was driving home my battery light came one, then when I went to work I noticed that it only came on when I was on the gas and not all the time. my first assumption is that the alt is going south, however the one thing that confuses my is that my voltage gauge didn't move at all. it jsut stayed in the same spot any idea's, by the way this is a 97 F-250LD with a 4.6

Check the belt first, make shure it's not slipping. If not, it more than likely is the alt. The volt gauge is reading battery voltage, if the alt has a bad diode, it can charge, but not enough to keep up with demand from the electrical circuits. Thats why the light comes on.
