'96 Big Broncho w/351. (I got this truck for my wife . . . Pretty good trade, huh?)
Not really, it's her truck. She loves it!
Same problem as before: When cruising down the freeway the overdrive will disengage (rpm's up) to take a hill. When cresting the hill, the overdrive does not re engage (rpm's back down). Have to touch cruise button, or tap the brake. All this with the cruise control on. Though I don't think that is a factor.
Help?
New info! Wife drove it today without cruise control on, and it shifted in & out of overdrive properly!
So . . . What is it, and how do I fix it?
As far as I remember, cruise control and ECM doesn't have any electrical connection related. Looking from de eyes of ECM there is no difference betwen driver's foot and cruise control chain, so tranny should shift ame maner IF the driver press pedal same as cruise control do.
Make this test: drive the hill cruise controll off but controling speed as cruise control do, tranny should shift same way...
Finally got back to my post.
We drove the same hill maintaining 75mph with and without cruise. With cruise on, OD did not re-engage (RPM's down). Without cruise, OD operated properly! PUZZLEING?!
