speaking of ground hawgs do these generally run 1-2" smaller than their advertised size? I'm interested in the 38" or 40" to bad they only come in the 16.5" rim I guess I will have to save for beadlocks.

Mine were 38.5's and they measured just under 38" when off the truck- they weren't new though.

Yeah I think my tires will be the bias 38.5's on 16.5x9.75 rockcrawler steel rims. I hate going with the 16.5's without a beadlock but these tires I heard wear like iron on the pavement and I can't afford buying new tires every year. Thanks scottie didn't mean to hijack your thread.

It's all good- no hard feelings here. Best of luck to you and your tires...

Yes, the hawgs tend to run small. They seem to be some of the worst offenders, at least the bigger sizes. I think I'm gonna start calling fishy the "Irok Avenger"

I am currently running 44 inch Ground Hawgs.....wait, 41.5 inch GH's. Yeah, Denman should win an award for being the most fraudulent as far as tire sizes go, but on my 8875 lb pickup, they have worn like iron for the last 9000 miles. They balanced out pretty well, too.

This weekend I'll talk my buddy into letting me run his IROKs and I'll post my opinion on them. I know he definitely doesn't like them, and now I'm determined to find out why...

Wow thats a huge diff! Maybe I should go with 40" and not the 38.5". I just don't want the 17" wide tire. If they are this off on there height how off are they on there width though?

Yeah try out the Iroks, who knows if your friend hates them that much and you end up liking them I think you should buy them at a fraction of what he paid. LOL

There ya go- now that's budget mud running. Talk my friends into buying stuff I want then buy it from them for less...hahaha. I will run those IROKs on my '87 though, and this truck supplies more than ample power so if it's the tires I'll surely know....
