help with tire sizes!!!!
I bought my 78 F250 2wd last november and finally got it to road condition. My problem now is that i need tires. It had 7.50 -16 on it, i want to keep the size close to that, but cant get accurate measurement because their shot. What would an approximate size tire that would fit??????

The tire most commonly put on is the 235/85-16. It is about 3/4" taller than the original, but it is the same tire used in the 80's and 90's so it is real common and priced reasonable. That is what I'm running on all of my trucks.

245/75-16's are also a good choice. They are a little wider and a little shorter than the 235/85-16's and you can get them in the same "E" load rating. I've got a set on my '74 F250 4wd, and while I have no idea what size came on it originally the speedo is almost dead-on when checked with a GPS, so they must be pretty close to stock height.

no they are not 16.5, and im glad. my dad has 235/85-16 on his truck and they look pretty good. when i get my new tires there gonna be n white spokes(i always loved the way they look).thanks for all the help.
