Tranny length

I'm thinking of swaping an 302 and 5 spd into an older truck and am wondering if a 5 spd is same length and the automatic.

It would depend on which automatic you're talking about. I assume the manual is the M5OD?

I would like to know how long the 5 spd is to like an C4 or AOD. I'm planning on droping a 302 and 5spd in my '51. I have an article where they did with a 302 and C4. They were able to modify the stock crossmember to mount the C-4. I'm just wondering if the manual is in the ballpark of the length of an automatic. If it is I won't have to buy a tranny crossmember.
