Ballast Resistor
I have a 74 390 and I have seen in several places that you do not need this resistor. Is that a true statement or is that someone tring to sound like they know what they are talking about and really don't. Thanks for the info

I am tring to put a ignitor on. I installed it and the truck doesn't run smoothly now. There is a red wire that went to the coil before, in additioin to the one from the ignitor, and I don't know what it is. I am waiting on my timeing lite to be sent to me so I can check the timeing, but I would think that it would be ok if it was ok before. Please just let me know what else you might need. Thanks for the help

Ahh, now I see the question. When running the ignitor the coil still needs a ballast but the module needs to see a full 12 volts. We just went thru this in another forum, check it out:
