I've been told that the '04 psd are not running pilot injection. If this correct how, are they still so quite?? If I take my '03 in to get rido f pilot injection are they going to mess wiht transmission???

mines an 04' and it came with pilot injection but was recently turned off with the latest flash, it actually runs pretty good with the latest flash but the MPG got worse really worse!!
Don't take in for a flash unless you have some problem. You will lose PI and most likely some of your MPG if they flash it. Total bait and switch job by ford to sell the truck with PI, advertise that they're quiet and then steal it away.
All the current production 04's have it disabled at the factory. No word from Ford if or when they will ever turn it on. Seems it's some shortcoming in the way fords fuel pressure system. GM and Dodge use a different system and have PI working, which is nothing but a black eye on the 6.0PSD, IMO.
