can't stop the leak

I have an 89 econline with a 300 six cylinder. I've changed the oil pan gasket twice, torqued it right (I hope) cleaned everything and it still leaks on the left side. What am I doing wrong?

Sure it's not leaking from the pushrod cover? Only thing I can think of.

Did you make sure the pan was straight and did you use anything on the gasket?

Whenever you change gaskets on oil pans or valve covers, before reinstalling them, you need to make sure you have a good flat gasket surface. When the bolts are tightened on oil pans they pull the metal down around the bolt holes. You need to put something under the lip of the pan and flatten down that surface around the bolt holes with a hammer.
