Need some help! Carb-351W
Hi! I'm having problems with 1987 F250 w/ 351W.
The truck came with an odd-ball 2 bbl Ford Carb with an adapter plate to the manifold. I think it should have Holley 4180 and my local parts guy sold me a Holley but I can't find the part number on the body of the new carb.
Also, it just doesn't fit right! There is a 2"X2" triangular plate bolted with two 3" long bolts to the top of the manifold, on the driver's side near the center of the carb opening, which has a skinny S-shaped riser pipe coming from the manifold into a metal cylinder; looks like a choke control but its on the driver's side. It interferes with the "new" carb I just bought.
Please send me some advice on what I got and what I need. All help is appreciated. John

i don't know why any fool would want a 2bbl. The motor is supposed to have a 4180c holley which are emission carbs. They are hard to adjust as well. Tear all the 2bbl junk off. You should have a wire for electric choke. A vaccum hose running to the ported source, a pcv hose and thats about it.
