Minor Mode ??
Hi all,
This is probably a silly question ...
I have a 2001 F 350 PS 4x4 6sp (36k miles). Not much offroad mainly pulling a travel trailer (7k) from Alaska to Mexico and all over the continent.
I do not plan to chip it.
Does putting a new drop in filter (like afe Pro-Guard 7 or Amsoil) or (?) a whole system (like AIS - sound and warranty) and/or changing the muffler (Walker ? other?) improve performance (not just lower egt) ??? Is it cost effective ??

I use the drop-in AFE Pro-Guard 7 filter and have had no problems. No dust in the intake tube at all. I have had it installed for 40k now. It flows the best of all the drop-in style, and still provides superior filtration. It cost me $85.00 at local diesel shop, and included a cleaning kit. I would use it over a stock filter. I dont have a tymar so I cant say if it makes a difference on a non-chipped truck like yours, maybe someone else could chime in...
