speedo correction

Had my gears changed about a month ago from 3.55s to 4.10s and running 285/75/16 tires (32.8). My stock tire was 255/70/16. Took it to the dealer to correct the speedo and they can only correct it to 3.73 and 265/75/16 tires. This was the highest they could change it to due to specs and standards. So still my speedo is off by 5mph @ 70 mph, any input on this type of situation. Thanx Rich

what year is your truck? I did essentially the same thing and ended up being able to use the stock gear (had a 1997 so had to change driven gear to adjust speedo). Only my stock tire was a 235/75R/16. If your pickup is a 97 or 98 you can just get a gear w/ 5% fewer teeth.

I used a superchip microtuner and was able to correct it to 4.10 gears and 33" tires.
