Tailgate Rust

I am having major rust issues in the tailgate of my '91 Bronco. I am about to rebuild the bottom of the tailgate with body compound, but I wanted to buy a diamond-plate protector for the tailgate. The diamond-plate protector covers the bottom 4 inches of the tailgate.

The problem is... I can only find diamond-plating for early model Broncos. Does anyone know where I can pick up diamond-plating for my '91? I have seen late-model Broncos with this accessory, but I have yet to find where I can pick one up.

You may have seen it on mine. However, I think that one of the previous owners made it. I do not know that anyone makes these specifically, but you can just get a piece of diamond plate and cut it to fit, then rivet it on.

I think that you can see mine in my gallery.

Ah yes. Thats exactly what I need. You are pretty lucky to have that piece. The only other alternative is to order some 19 gauge sheet metal to put over the rust... but then you have to paint it. Oh well, I need to shine up the old Bronco anyways with some new red and tan.

Woah, if you could find that... that would be awesome. Any hints would help. I'll order any catalog. I guess I'll drive around with the slick looking BONDO til then, hahaha.
