Header Odor ?

Yo!
I had Bassani headers installed 16 months ago. I also have the Y-pipe to Gibson muffler. Question: When I romp on it- say from 40mph-65 or 60-80mph ( rarley, but I do
or whenever I punch her... I can smell fumes of some sort. No leaks in the exhaust hardware. I was thinking- tighten the header bolts? I also remember this smell a few years back, although not as pronounce with the OEM headers/exhaust. I can smell this with either the windows up or down . Does this sound familiar to anyone?

If i am right it kinda smells like melting plastic or somthing? If so I have smelled that on new exaust after muffler replacements and such. Probly just the crap burning off the pipe and outta the muffler when it gets good and hot.

When I put Gibson headers on my truck, I had a slight funky odor for awhile. I attributed it to the coating on the headers and maybe just the stainless being heated up to that temp. However 16 months sounds like a long time to still be smelling it in your case.
