thanks, but I pulled the belt off & the pulley spins but has slight amout of roughness & a little play from front to back. I'm sure th noise is in the pulley / clutch assembly, I'm not certain as to how hard the pulley/clutch is to change & whether or not it takes a special tool to remove the pully? thanks for the help.

update for any one intrested....it is a pretty easy fix, bearing in pulley was approx 1\2 gone. pulley is held on with snap ring & was not that difficult to change, just had to unbolt compressor to get additional room to get to the pulley.

noisey compresser pulley.
Your soumd a whole lot like line as the seal was one & half of the ball bearings were gone. I changed the pulley....as it has the bearing already in it, I did not have to change the coil, hardest part was getting snap ring ( retainer ) off. I will say it helped to have had used a friend s lift as there is not alot of room to work with.
